Twins is a fine art print created by Paul Waters and Jamie Nami Kim. It's a collaboration of two different languages with the same meaning. Reached after a series of conversations about storytelling: one from an eastern view and one from a western view of cultures.
A signed fine art print limited to 100 high-quality editions, 30 available on Metalabel.
Jamie Nami Kim (b. 1977) is a Korean-Canadian artist based in NYC. Jamie makes large, finger-painted and collaged canvases with vibrant colors and warm figures. Kim’s work explores ancestry, family, dreams, and “the thing that no one wants to talk about” dealing with the suffering of Korean women during Japanese occupation. Kim’s work turns these areas into colorful and surreal dreams, with a warm, contemplative, and welcoming tone.
Paul Water (b. 1936) is an African American artist in NYC. He has been making art on The Bowery since 1967. He has traveled to Europe, Africa, Asia, the South Pacific, and South America. His fascination of shadows and symbols result in a timeless and playful language.
Paul and Jamie are both self-taught artists. They share a studio space on The Bowery.
